A Very Hot Friday

It was so hot out there today, it must have been close to 110 degrees. Once you stop working, or as Sharil says "you get out of the zone", you realize how draining the heat is. People always ask us "how do the horses handle the heat?" We always say, the horses do fine, it's all of us who have to take care of them that die! The horses get to stand in the shade while we all clean and fill the water buckets, feed, and clean... :o)

Sharil shedded out Christian Bail then moved him into the Big Vacation Village pasture. Christian is the sweetest guy! We also moved Soot and Convoy into the Mare Motel to start their adoption evaluations. Sabine will be working with them getting them ready for new homes.

Elisa moved Blackjack and Aviator out of the Hospice and Mare Motel, up into the boarder area until they leave for their new homes.

Sadler watched all the activity...

We had the Shiloh rock that the Hickey Family donated to us moved to another location by the side gate. This way people can see and enjoy it more...

Salsette checks out the new rock location.

Oscar Meyer staying cool and enjoying himself in the Pig Mud Pool. Pig Newton is still in his own barn stall, and we think Oscar thinks there was a complication with the castration and that Pig Newton is no longer at the ranch. But, come Sunday, Pig Newton will be out. Today he stood banging and pushing on the stall door trying to escape. We are afraid there is a Pig Showdown approaching and it's not going to be pretty...

Spartacus was exhausted on the way home...
