Adopted Horse Update: Sadler

I received this great email from Shiloh Horse Sadler's adopter, Heather. Sadler is now called Sully and is a lucky horse to have such a wonderful owner! Thank you for the update Heather and Sully!

"Sully is doing very well. I love that boy more than anything. He has become very fit and has shown in our lessons that he knows some pretty fancy movements like passage and piaffe!! All this time I thought he would make a great hunter and turns out he's got a love of dressage. I have learned so much about his personality the past year and a half. He's a proud horse for sure and I love that he tries so hard. He is quite the gem!"

Shiloh Daily Pics and Two Adoptions

Good news from the rescue as Breeze was adopted yesterday and Pequito was adopted this morning. It is always wonderful to see the horses moving on to their new homes and lives...

It was a beautiful day today, clear skies and warm sunshine. Enjoy these photos from this morning.

Honey Boo Boo and BLT have teamed up and were wandering Shiloh together today. Looks like we have another Shiloh wonder couple!

Donkey Otie in his favorite position- standing and blocking access to the Cherry Pie gate. He always does this and will not move in or out- just stands in the way...

Wanderer Latigo found an interesting rag in the trash and took it with him. I don't know why...

Sometimes at Shiloh it is best to just go with it and not ask too many questions...

Robin worked with Florecita to get her ready for her upcoming appearance at the Anthem Pet Club meeting on December 19th. Flora will be "discussing" her new book with her Anthem fans. "Florecita, Proud to be a Rescue Horse" is available at Shiloh, in our online web store or through amazon.com.

Flora was a bit rusty and threw a few temper tantrums...

But eventually she gave up the Diva act and got with the program...

One book and it has already gone to her head! :0)

Sunday at Shiloh

Great news from the rescue as Breeze was officially adopted today. She will be boarded at Shiloh so we don't have to say good bye to her yet. Happy Trails Breeze!

Some photos from today, enjoy!

Dave and Sunday and Honey Boo Boo enjoyed some time in the saddle...

We had a large Basic Horsemanship Class with some students from UNLV- everyone had fun and the horses enjoyed the special attention...

Graffiti...

Hawkeye...

Borrego...

And Boarded Horse Shar...

Big thanks to volunteer Kendra who cleaned off Clovis' rear end- another favorite Shiloh Volunteer chore! :0)

Colleen and her newly adopted horse, Starsky, did great in their riding lesson...

A good day!

The last few days at Shiloh

For those of who are not on Shiloh's Facebook page, here is what we have been up to the last few days...

Tecate and Starsky were both adopted to wonderful new homes this past week. Tecate is at his new home now and Starsky is being boarded at Shiloh. We are very happy for both of these horses.

Our Saturday rummage sale at Sandy Valley Ranch brought in over $1400.00 for the Shiloh horses. Huge thank you to everyone for their support!

Don't forget that our new children's book, "Florecita, Proud to be a Rescue Horse" is now available through Amazon.com and will soon be up in our Shiloh online shop (hopefully by tonight). Copies can also be purchased directly at Shiloh, the cost is $10.00 per book. This is a great book, uplifting and compassionate, perfect for teaching children about the true meaning of rescue. All copies purchased at Shiloh are signed by Jill and Robin (the authors) and Florecita, the main character. :0)

Enjoy the following photos!

Our newest pig Honey Boo Boo has really settled in, she can now be found exploring all over the ranch. It is not unusual to be standing in the arena and spot her wandering toward the back Mesquite Trees. Here she is in the Medical Area looking for scraps from Graffiti...

Melvyn. All of our old horses are now wearing blankets, it is down into the 30's at night...

Wandering one eyed pony, Pokie Dot, soaking up some of the warm sun after a cold night...

Wanderers Charlie, Latigo and Mamacita hanging out by the Medical Units...

Wandering pony Trigger, looking very fuzzy!

Arturo and Ochocinco...

Hawkeye and new volunteer, Lynn, in their Basic Horsemanship Class this morning...

And it is official- I can now ride again! After one year out of the saddle after my back surgery, I was back up on Jedermann!

AJ on Moses and Elaine on Willie explored the ranch. Looking good Ladies!

Adoptable Shiloh Horse: Starsky

Starsky, a 12 year old Thoroughbred gelding, is looking for his new home. He is sound and healthy, stands for the farrier and for tacking up. He is great at W/T/C in the arena and great out on trail. A nice horse for a larger man. Adoption fee: $400.00

Adoptable Shiloh Horse: Breeze

Breeze, a 17 year old Thoroghbred mare, is still looking for her new home. She is fun to ride, willing and forward at the W/T/C in the arena and great out on trail. A nice first horse! Sound and healthy, adoption fee $400.00.

Get out the Vote!

I believe voting is extremely important, in fact it really is an obligation, a duty even, for us as Americans. I often think of all of those before us who fought, struggled and died to ensure we have the right to vote. So we owe it to them to spend ten minutes of our time and vote- vote for whomever your conscience tells you to vote for- the important thing is that you use your vote as your own voice.

I don't think I am alone in this thinking, it looks like the Shiloh Animals feel the same way!

Aztec Voted!

Taquito and Tortilla showed their voting pride!

Jimmy Dean had to take a nap after his exciting time at the polls!

Sage took time out of her wandering schedule to exercise her voting rights!

Even sweet old blind and deaf Melvyn took the time to cast his ballot!

Tanis says just do it!
