Tuesday

The Western States Veterinary Conference Vets were out at Shiloh today to choose four new Shiloh horses for their vet testing program. They will be returning Shiloh Horses Sundance, Pablo, Stormy, and Trace and in a few weeks will be taking Roy, Alleghany, Hudson, and Aiken. These four horses will have a little bit of a "job" for the next few months where they will teach future vet students horse lameness issues. The horses are extremely well cared for while they are used in the program, live in Las Vegas under vet supervision, and receive free vet care which is wonderful for Shiloh. We have been working with this program for the past two years.

Aiken is walked out to check his lameness...

Everyone checks out Roy to see if he is a candidate for the vet program.

Trey, our Farrier was out working on horses today. Beau and Empire were reshod, Tanis had his loose shoe put back on, and Rookie was trimmed.

Stetson's forearm wound has abscessed, but he is doing well. He is on antibiotics and is still being treated daily. But, he is catching on to the process and he is acting up more each day! We are keeping him out in his pasture for now where he can stay with his friend Laramie and keep moving to keep the swelling down. He gets very upset and tense if he is away from his normal environment.
Will plays with his buckets...
