The Auction

I just wanted to post a quick update from last night's auction.

First of all, Jill's truck was broken into at the auction while we were all inside bidding on the horses. The thiefs stole Jill's purse, with ALL of the donations from Shiloh's Slaughter Fund. A total of $2300.00 cash which we were going to use to pay the auction bill at the end of the night. It is a cash auction. Jill and Sally's laptop computers were also stolen. It was an absolute nightmare. Thankfully, Shiloh volunteer and fellow auction goer, Tonya, was able to use her credit card (thank you to the auction management for understanding about the cash) to pay the auction bill as all of Jill's credit cards were also stolen. THANK YOU TONYA!

As for the horses, Shiloh saved 8 of them for a total of $1800.00.

I will be posting their photos and their stories tomorrow morning. We just got home and we are exhausted, mentally and physically.

Jill, Sally, Elisa, and Tonya went to this auction, Elisa and Tonya were huge helps!

Little b**t*rds!! Hope it was all reported and you get at least the laptops/cards back. Thanks to Tonya too that you managed to save another 8!

OHMYGOD! Our son just had HIS car window broken. They went after his girlfriend's gym bag (which only had her gym clothes in it)...BUT...her bag is identical to HIS laptop bag, so he believes they were after his laptop. AND, he parks in a camera-monitored area. GO FIGURE!

I'm so sorry this happened, but I'm thankful that horses were able to be rescued. Can't wait for pics and updates.

In the meantime, Jill, you know we are behind you 100%. Yes. b*st*rds!

Hopefully those thieves will be caught and you can get some things back. Thank Goodness that the staff at the auction understood. Not only were they stealing from Jill and Sally but from Shiloh Horses too!! I have to agree, B**T*RDS!!!!!!!!

Hi,
My name's Florence and i'm french. I don't speak a very good english so i'll leave my comment in french.
Bonjour,
Bon courage.

Stealing from Shiloh, Jill and Sally is like stealing from the Pope. You are stealing from a sanctuary! A safe place for people and animals! The theifs know who they are and they know what they did. They probably had fun spending the money, but their consciuos will always be with them. This makes me very emotional because I think of my two rescued horses that would not be here if it was not for Shiloh, Jill, Sally, and all the support. How do you steal from a Sanctuary? I'm glad everyone is home safe and you saved more lives!

Just in case anyone is wondering, the French to English translation of the comment posted below is as follows:

I would like to congratulate you on such a great initiative. I don't understand how someone could abandon an animal. I am the happy owner of 3 horses that I could never leave to die. Is it not said that horses are man's most beautiful conquest? Thus it is only just that we care for them until their last breath. What's more is that equestrianism is the only "solo sport" that is practiced in teams. It is clear that one must be in symbioses with one's partner to obtain the best results.
Personally, I am looking to create a stable where the prime concern is the well being of the horses. There would be a sportive instructional center where riders would learn to mount with respect and a thalassotherapy center for the horses as well. This project is very expensive and would require a lot of money, and I am therefore seeking partners or patrons ... if they are interested ... I know that this blog is not geared towards this but I am tossing a message in a bottle into the sea...
In any case, I would like to congratulate you for all that you do.

Good luck
