The Passing of a Friend...

Our friend Susan passed away peacefully last night. She passed in her warm home, with her loving daughter, Ruth, at her side.

Sally and I have known Susan since I was a teenager, Ruth and her son, Josh, were members of the same Pony Club in San Diego, Rainbow of the Foothills. Sally and Susan were "horse show" moms, always hauling horses to shows, Pony Club Rallies and lessons. I will always remember those days with great fondness and laughter.

Susan found her true calling when she went on a mission for her church to Mongolia. She taught business development in Mongolia and eventually created a Foundation to help Kazakh women of Mongolia earn their own livings by creating and selling their traditional handwork. This handwork is called Altai Craft and is really a wonderful Foundation which has truly transformed women's lives and will be a lasting legacy to Susan.

Susan was courageous, strong and tenacious and her passion changed people's lives for the better. She was a woman to be admired and looked up to and Sally and I are proud she was, and always will be, our friend.

Godspeed Susan.

It is always so hard to say 'so long'. It is so long because we will see them again.....
