Thursday at Shiloh

A hot and muggy day today...

All the horses are doing well. City Slicker and Snafu are being treated for minor wounds on their legs from doing who knows what in their pastures. We are checking over all the horses' eyes daily as the fly season is here. We try to get flymasks on everyone, but it's not easy and it is an endless job as they horses like to remove them when they can! But, in the morning, many of the horses who did get their masks off will wander right up and stand still to get them put back on. Some of them seem to know that the masks helps them out. We are also spreading the Fly Predators around the rescue to try to keep the flies down.

We are always looking for more flymasks, if you are thinking about donating something, that is a great thing to get the horses. We mostly use the normal size for a normal horse, but do need a few mini and pony sizes as well as a few x-large sizes. Here is an example of a type that we find holds up the best. If you do use www.horse.com, make sure you add shilohhorse as the code when you check out!

Clovis eating out in the Area 51 pasture...
Remember how Kerkorian looked at the Fallon auction in February?

Here he is today starting his adoption evaluation! He's a nice gelding who, with some time to get back into the groove, will make someone a nice pleasure riding horse.

Elisa and Kerkorian at the canter, looking cute!

Lake Gummie. Someone left the hose on...

City Slicker, looking great now that he has gained his weight...
