Back at the ranch...

Sally and I are back, we had a wonderful trip, but it's nice to be home as always. The horses, and all of the other animals look great, as does the ranch. Big thanks to Felipe for his hard work while in charge and to our volunteers who pitched in to help!

It is so hot out there, it had to be 105 today! There is not alot to do in that kind of heat, we are all in slow motion, including the horses.
Orlando, Mendoza and Priceless eating their senior feed this morning. Big thanks also to everyone who donated new flymasks- we really needed them and the horses look great in them!

We moved Gummie Pen member, Susie Q in with Pepperoni in the Duplex. Pepperoni is just going downhill, although she eats, she really just picks at her food. We tempt her with all kinds of feed, but she just slowly sifts through everything. She does have a heart murmur, but she is not in pain and today she chased the pig, Sausage Patti out of her pen. We are hoping that being with her pal Susie Q will stimulate her appetite. We are having her checked over by the vet again next week. Susie Q is also losing some weight, she is very old and just doesn't have many teeth left anymore. But she is still alert and happy and that's all we can ask for.

Wanderers, Trigger and Rugrat, pick up the scraps of Dude's senior feed that falls through the fence. They hang out at the back of Assisted Living all day, waiting...

Little Dude is doing well in Assisted Living...

We have to work hard at keeping Donkey Otie's leg abrasions covered from the flies. He just tears everything off and the fly ointment only lasts so long. Today we tried vet wrapping two fly boots over the areas. We will see if this works. Here he is stretching to steal feed from Assisted Living. He has put on quite a bit of weight since his arrival and is happy and content in his new home.

Laurie and Gladys found a cool place under City Center.

Sally cleaned and dressed Mercali's cut.

Jimmy Dean and Sausage Patti napped together in the shade of Sitka's stall.
