Saturday's Adventures...

Another busy weekend, lots of volunteers and visitors...

Dave helped put up our sign by the road...
It looks really nice...
Sunday!
Sandi grooms the Haflinger mare...

It's not just the horses and the people who enjoy the weekends at the rescue...
Kell;y and hitchhiker, Ceasar "carrot" the horses. "To Carrot" is now a verb thanks to Shiloh's Carrot Patrol!
It was Salsa's one year birthday. We celebrated with cupcakes, thanks to the Hickey Family. Salsa enjoys his cupcake...
"Thank you Dave!"
Baja visit with Gummie horse, Susie...

Sharil traveled to visit long time friend of Shiloh, Kathy in Spokane. Here she is with adopted Shiloh Horse, Junior! He looks great!
Will had some fun with a ball in the big turn out... He is almost 6 months old, so he will be weaned soon. We like to let nature and his mother's behavior let us know when is the right time to wean...
Some donated halters that were washed and hung up to dry...
Adopted Shiloh horse, Justin in his home in Hawaii! He was adopted, along with Shiloh Horses, Attica, Tri, and Ocala by Holli who eventually moved them to her home in Hawaii. Look how great the horses look and how green it is! Justin was rescued off of the Fallon Nevada feedlot, what a life story he has had!
Attica and Tri...
Ocala!

Thank you D Family for a lovely party in honour of Salsa's 1st Birthday! What a fun time! Salsa ate his cupcake like he knew it was his birthday! And how cute that you had the game 'pen the tail on the donkey!!!' It was great getting to know eachother a bit better, sharing stories around the table. It was a wonderful respite after a full morning of carroting! The new kids on the block learned quickly of our purpose- and were happy to know that they were the reason for us going from 5 bags to 6 bags of carrots! Hope all have a fabulous week- And Dave and the D family- thank you for saving Salsa one year ago yesterday!

I just have to add that the Shiloh owners, employees, boarders, and volunteers are just delightful people, and I am so blessed for having met you all!

This is the reason we all take a part in saving horses. Whether it's from slaughter, neglect and/or abuse. I want to let everyone know that the Federal Committee is voting on September 10 on the Horse slaughter of Equine Prevention Act H.R. 6598. If you need more info, visit my blog at www.puttinghorsesfirst.blogspot.com if anyone knows me, you will know that I work every day to keep everyone informed and knowledgeable in horse slaughter and all it's hidden truths. The numbers to contact the Congressmen's that will be voting on this bill is on my blog. Please call them and ask them to support and co-sponsor this bill. Even if you call the Congressman for your area, it will help. Thank you to Dave and everyone at Shiloh for making all of us see the other side of horse slaughter, the happy side that horses are deserving to live.

Aren't you glad I didn't hang my dirty laundry with the halters on the fence post too?
Thank you Shiloh for providing a safe and loving shelter for these loving critters! My heart belong to Shiloh!
