A Fun Friday

A beautiful day today...

We welcomed a new boarder today, this is Shar, a 25 year old Arabian mare. Welcome Shar!

A view of Charlie through the Barn aisle...

The Wanderers. Left to right: Charlie, Latigo, Cortez, Charm, Huckleberry and Moose...

Sabine and Lucero. Sabine is now working with the babies to get them ready for adoption.

Okay Corral...

Okay Corral. The white gelding is our Mustang, Iceman...

Frost, Okay Corral...

Pablo, Okay Corral...

This morning I uttered the words we all fear the most, "We have to fix Angel's clothing." It such a pain, first of all, she hates to be caught so it's a big dramatic production to get her in the pasture. Usually it involves all of her pasture mates joining in the chase which quickly grows out of control- old and lame Sanctuary horses racing around joyfully on three legs, bucking horses, barking dogs, dust flying, etc. Then, once Angel is caught, she won't stand still for anything. You have to take your life into your hands to change her clothes. It's kind of like a pit stop in the Indy 500- you just get in, get it done and get out. As soon as we are finished, off she goes, straps and sheets flapping and we all just look at each other and grimace, dreading her next wardrobe malfunction... Only at Shiloh!

Felipe tried to trick her into thinking he really wasn't coming for her- but that's the oldest trick in the book! They ALWAYS know when you are coming for them...

The chase is on! I had to tie her hood to her sheet, when she put her head down her hairless neck was exposed to the sun. Her clothing is UV protective...

And this is the finished result- I know, it pretty much looks the same as the before photo- but her neck sheet is now secured. All that drama for one little adjustment...

TC, Okay Corral...

Mojo snuck some loose hay off of the feed wagon...

Trigger had breakfast with the Bungalows...

Big Pasture. The chestnut gelding walking toward me is Pequito...

More Big Pasture...

Even more Big Pasture...

A meeting of various species on CityCenter...

Special needs old guy, Shadow, in his Barn stall...

Sabine worked with Sherlock, our young Curly gelding...

Who's "rubber band" back legs are these?

They belong to sweet old Melvyn!

For our Shiloh friends who are not on Facebook, these photos were taken at my last horse show, Woodside...

This is actually an Advanced Level cross country jump! It's called a Giant's Table and it was HUGE...

Team Jedermann! Sandi, Jill, Robin and Sally.

We finished in seventh place- thanks to the hard work and support from the team from Shiloh!

Jilly: half an hour later dear sweet Angel's sheet was hanging off her! It seems to be impossible to keep her covered! I cannot catch her t all. We must resort to "tricks" but she is too smart! Why Angel Why???
