Another Great Day

Crystal clear weather but still with a chill in the air, today was just great. All the horses are doing well and no emergencies.

Tomorrow Tioga will return from the clinic where he had his skin cancer treated. Dr. Schur was able to remove a huge amount. Tioga will return to Shiloh with a new arrival- a young Appy mini who was rescued from a bad situation by a horse lover in our community. This little guy was being neglected and had a bad case of colic when she got him out of his situation. Shiloh paid for his colic treatment and arranged and paid to have him gelded while he was at the clinic. He was suffering from cryptorchidism (undescended testicles). Shiloh paid for his surgery (approx $800.00) so that he would be able to live a normal and full life. Because he is now a gelding, he can enjoy herd living and will be much easier to handle. We haven't even seen him yet, so when we do, I will take photos so everyone can see him...

There was a traffic jam in the Barn aisle this morning. That is Cortez, Charlie, Pokie Dot and Scrappy.
Elisa's dog, Cecil, looked very cute in his coat. He looked like he was off to College...

Easy Street Pasture eating breakfast.

We had to flush Lovely's sinus out today. We had to sedate her, inject lidocain in the area, insert the big needle through the small hole in her bone into her sinus cavity and flush it out using an IV bag. We then injected Penicillin into her cavity and gave her two injections of Exceed, a new long term IM antibiotic. She was a good girl and stood quietly as we did all of this. It seems to really be making a difference, she has way less discharge and this must make her feel much better.

The newest arrivals enjoyed the Isolation turn out. This is Ember, the gray Arabian mare and Toluca.

Toluca- she is a sweet mare.

We have named the big TB gelding, Starsky.

We named this cutie, Banjo.

Banjo is so cute!

Banjo and Starsky had some fun together...

This is Guadalupe, the thin TB mare.

Over in the Saloon, Gentry and Hawkeye warmed up in the sun...

While Lobo spent some time in the round pen.

Echo Echo, who is doing so much better and who has regained his spark in his eye, watched the activity from the comfort of his Barn stall...

BB showed off in the turn out!

He is getting so big. His baby hair is shedding out, it looks like he is going to be a beautiful darker dun color with his Appy blanket.

The pregnant TB mare, Breeze, had her leg wound cleaned out by Tanya on City Center.

Aztec napped by the Hospice.

He ALWAYS carries a stalk of hay in his mouth, it is so funny! Aztec will join Daisy tomorrow afternoon at the Paseo Verde Library in Green Valley where they will participate in the Best Friend's "I Read to Animals" program.

The Mega Pasture...

Pequito in Mega. He is looking great!
