The Weekend

It's been a busy weekend at the rescue! Lots of volunteers and visitors and tons of activity...

First off, wonderful news as little Battle Born, BB, has been adopted to a new home! He is being adopted to a great home in the Los Angeles area. It's a great match for this little guy! Of course, BB will remain at Shiloh until he is weaned from his mom at six months of age. At that time, he will move on to his new home and future. As much as we would love to have him with us forever- that's not the best thing for BB- he needs a full life and a home of his own...
We created a new senior pasture area, called The Saloon. We incorporated our old Wanderer's shelters into the new area. It turned out to be a great space!

Part of the Saloon, next to Hospice, taken from the top of the shelters.
Sully and Hawkeye explored the Saloon area.
We also put up new fencing in between Jill's pasture and the Okay Corral. We took down the old electric tape and added pipe panels.

It was a hard job- huge thanks to everyone who set up the panels!

Peso was moved into a medical unit- he is still a bit depressed, so we thought the change of scenery would perk him up a bit. Now, he can watch the daily activities. He is such a gentle old guy, just super sweet.

Over in Hospice, Truce watched the action. Later, he was also moved into the Saloon area, along with Sully, Hawkeye, Gentry and Wampum.Truce watched Elisa ride Calamity by...

In the barn, Echo was groomed by a volunteer...

While barn member, eagle, went out of his stall for a walk...

Eric worked with Iceman in the stocks on City Center...

While Lindsey Loham ate a corn cob...

Salsa helped sweep out the barn aisle...

And then wore Dave's boots around. Only at Shiloh!

Sharil brought a cake for Jill, who turns 40 in a few days...

Jill looked a bit queasy at the idea of turning 40!

The Big Pasture peacefully ate their hay...

The pastures are still really deep with mud...

But, with the great weather we have headed our way, they should be dried up in a few days.

A great few days!
