This Past Weekend...

Well, my flip video camara stopped working- it's full of new photos and it's dead. This is the 5th one in the last few years- I love the Flip but I am just so hard on it. I ordered another one which should be here in a few days, so bear with me for photos. I had lots of updated photos of the horses to add to the site, but I will have to take them again.

We moved the newest Fallon Feedlot horses out of Isolation and onto the rescue side of the ranch. They all look good and now we can start to really get to know them. Everyone is still gaining weight and will be getting their make overs.

Melvyn is doing great! He is still eating and very interested in everything. He whinnies every time we go into his stall or just call his name. What a sweet old guy he is and a true favorite to everyone.

Marc Rea, a three star Parelli instructor, came out to Shiloh on Saturday to give a clinic. Lots of our boarders and long time volunteers participated in it and everyone learned alot. The best part of these clinics are some of the rescue horses get lots and lots of hands on work and attention and our volunteers learn how to help these horses become more adoptable- it's a win-win situation for everyone! Dave Hickey did a fabulous job setting it all up- thanks Dave! Thanks also to Marc and to everyone who braved the rainy weather to come and learn!

Speaking of clinics- don't forget, we have Mustang Makeover participant, Joe Weitekamp, coming to Shiloh for a clinic on May 1st. Learn more about participating here.

Here are some photos from yesterday's activities:

Everyone gathered in the dry office to listen to Marc...

Even Shiloh was listening...

Marc demonstrated pressure points using Shiloh!
Everyone listened very closely...

Then it was outside for hands on work...

Looking good!

Over to one of the round pens...
Taco, the Burro, also listened in...

Marc used his mare as a demonstration.

Back over on the rescue side, our Farrier worked on Nevada's hooves while BB watched.

He wondered what Ranch Dog, Coby, was eating. The dogs LOVE the trimmed hooves!

Then it was time for BB's first hoof trim! He didn't like it too much at first, but finally settled down and acted like a big horse. That is Lindsey Loham behind him, she now loves to rest in their shelter.

The Bungalow Brat Pack kicked up their heels in the cold weather!
