A Sad Vet Day...

I just don't have the energy to post all of the photos from today's vet day, I will do that tomorrow.

But, sadly, we did have to euthanise Sitka, Echo Echo, Eagle and Charity. They all passed very quickly and in their enviroments where they lived with their friends. Each had a mouthful of carrots and were still chewing them when they went down. They all heard our loving voices and felt our loving hands, all were sent on their way with kindness and love. All have good legs now and are running as a herd in Greener Pastures. I am sure that Chief is leading the way now that he is reunited with some of his friends from his wandering herd...

A hard and heartbreaking day for all of us.

They were loved enough to be set free from their pain. Not an easy task for the people who must make these tough decisions for the souls they care for. Tears are easy now, soon they will only be the happy memories left for all to enjoy the time spent with these wonderful beings who grace us with their prescence.

Jill and Sally have strong hearts to make the decisions they make everyday, they give life a new begining for as long as possable and let go when the time has come ,i would no want to stand in their shoes for that part of rescue

Our thoughts are with you all. Be strong and keep fighting the good fight.

Thanks to all of you and this blog, the horses that pass on with you will always be alive in many many hearts and memories, instead of long forgotten.

The first time I met Jill and Sally they were letting one of their horses pass on to greener pastures. I could tell from my vantage point how loving and caring they were. They were talking to the horse, petting its head and giving it comforting words. This made me forever have great respect for them. Over the years while volunteering at Shiloh I grew to respect and love them even more. God bless an God bless all the cretures at Shiloh. - Stephanie
