Image's Shiloh Journey has Ended...

Sad news today as our old pony little Image just passed away about an hour ago at Shiloh. He passed naturally and quickly, he was perfectly fine one minute, the next he was gone. Felipe walked past him to go into the Cherry Pie Lounge- he was up and standing by his pal Tioga. Twenty five minutes later, he walked back out and Image was gone, laying in his corral. No sign of struggle, nothing.

Just this morning, our Volunteer Helga gave him his bath after which he rolled in the mud! He ate all of his Equine Senior for breakfast and had more for lunch.

Image was a very neat little guy and a real favorite of many of our volunteers. He loved his daily cool baths (he suffered from Cushings) and waited each morning for his part of the Breakfast Club feed. He spent his days with Tioga, eating and just enjoying a good horse life.

As sad as we are to see him go, we can be thankful that he passed so quickly and painlessly. Image was donated a few years ago by his caring family, the Belascos of San Diego, CA and we extend our condolences to them as well. They sent him to Shiloh so that he could enjoy his later years in comfort and friendship and could just be a horse doing horse things...

He was a real character and his spirit will be missed at Shiloh...

Here are some photos of him from the past few weeks:

Playing with Tioga...

Getting a bath from Emily and Sandi...

Relaxing after yet another bath.

Rest in Peace, little guy.

Oh no. I gave him a little treat this morning on my way to cherry pie. Wow that is sad but glad the little guy went so quickly.

Aw, what a great little horse. I'm so sorry he's gone, but at least it was quick and naturally, and he was surrounded by his friends. Rest in peace Image....
