The Big Pasture's morning hay...
A meeting in Okay Corral. I moved Nike back out for a while to let her quarter crack in her hoof dry out. It opened up a bit with all of the mud and rain we had and some of the pens are still so wet. That is Nike in the middle with Avalon's head over Sadler...
Slider (the chestnut on the right) was moved back out into the Saloon. That is Baldwin sniffing him...
We finally weaned the latest batch of babies (left to right: Butterfly, Locksley, Brisa and Twister). As Sally says, "They went right through school and are now in college!". They are almost 9 months old now, and we normally wean at 6 months. But, at weaning time, some of the babies and their mom's had respiratory infections and we didn't want to wean them until everyone was healthy and feeling good. Today was the day. There was some calling going on...
But then it was play time! We also moved Wanderers Scrappy and Baja in with the babies to act as babysitters. Scrappy loves the babies and always hung out at their fence line. It's good for newly weaned babies to have older horses around to teach them how to act like a horses.
Baja grabbed her last quiet meal for a while before moving into The Bungalows with the babies. Here she is with Ethel the Mule...
