The Girl Scouts go to Work for the Shiloh Horses!

A Troop of Girl Scouts came out to Shiloh this past Saturday to set up pasture fencing. They were working on a service project and chose Shiloh as the place they wanted to help.

Big thanks to the Girls and their parents and to the Hickey Family for getting this project done- it really means alot to both Sally and I and all of the horses...

They arrived bright and early, ready to work!

A great bunch of horse loving Girl Scouts!

They quickly found out, it's hard work at the ranch!

The parents pitched in...

Bringing in the new panels (part of our 2010 EQUUS Grant)...

Working hard!

Of course, the horses checked out the activity...

Rookie tried to "help"...

Keep working girls!

Bringing in the good panels...

They took down the unsafe fence run and replaced it with better panels...

A rest in the shade...

Getting to know some of the horses they were helping...

The new panels...

One of the finished runs...

The other finished run- we zig-zag the panels for more stability. It works great!

Meanwhile, Jedermann and I were competing in a horse show (Combined Training) in San Diego. We placed third and qualified for the year end championships!

all the girls worked very hard, they even groomed the horses from the blind girls pasture to the gummys pasture . they all wanted to take their favorite horse home with them, they went as far to give me their phone number to have jill call them , they will make great horse owners when they have there own . all the girls said they want to come back and do more for the horses .
