Granite...

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Elaine whose adopted horse, Granite, passed away last night in his pasture at Shiloh. I think his time had come and he passed without any struggle, it looks like he just went to sleep and passed.

Granite came to Shiloh as a stallion who had been abandoned in a backyard after his previous owners moved away. Starving, he finally broke out of his pen and found his way over to the neighbors who called Animal Control. After coming to Shiloh and being gelded, Elaine happily adopted him as her first horse. It was love at first sight and a great match. Granite had a very hard life, but the last year, he knew love and kindness and finally found someone who loved him.

Elaine and Granite could often be seen wandering the rescue, taking long walks. Elaine was looking forward to learning to ride.

We thank you, Elaine, for adopting this neat horse and loving him just the way he was. He loved you too...

Elaine and Granite...

Some happier news- Resolute and Truce were both happily adopted to the Reynold's Family and left for their new homes today...

Im so sorry about your horse, its so hard when they leave. And shame on the owners who left him there starving to begin with.
