A Very Cold and Windy Sunday...

It was freezing out there this morning! It was raining and there were small snowflakes falling. So, it was time to blanket all the older and compromised horses. All of the Super Gummies and Special Needs horses have been wearing blankets at night for a few weeks already...

But, first we had to help special needs mare, Susie Q, get up. She had laid down and her arthritis made it hard for her to get back up. Being a rescue full of old horses, we have gotten very good at helping horses get a boost up. Here Susie Q grabbed a quick bite of hay before Felipe, Diego, Dave and Junior gave her a lift...

And, she is up! A little Bute and she was off to eat breakfast, none the worse...

Flicker is wearing her blanket in Little Vacation Village...

So are the Blind Girls and White Cloud...

The Gummies- that is Melvyn and Vista in the front...

Next was little Cairo's turn- his first blanket. Sharil and Felipe caught him and put it on...

Once he figured out what it was- he liked it!

Gentry in the Saloon...

Sally and Dave putting a blanket on Capone...

Little Vacation Village- left to right- Kelso, Bucky and Dude...

Mustang Iceman enjoyed the turn out...

A good day to be a cloud in the Big Pasture...

Clovis...

Angel, the Skin Horse, is now bundled up...

In Easy Street, Stretch enjoyed his blanket...

Part of the huge flock of wild birds who live at Shiloh. They just fly around and clean up after the horses.

Yvonne took Will for a walk as Mojo watched...

Lindsey Loham's Rehab- all ready for the cold.

Helga worked with her adopted horse, Hutch...

The weekend's excitement was just too much for Charlie. He sprawled out and took a nice sun nap...
