First off, sad news as Flicker had to be euthanised in the vet clinic this morning. She had two seizures (which she has never had before) within ten minutes of each other at the morning feeding time and we had her taken into the clinic. She has been acting strange for a few weeks, not colicy, just not right. But over the past few days she cheered up some and seemed to be back on track. When she arrived at the clinic she was close to seizing again and was in major shock. We had to make the sad decision to have her put down. The vet is waiting on results to see what was going on with her. A sad part of rescue...
But, the circle of life continues, this is "Tommy With an Eye", a thin gelding who arrived from Animal Control this afternoon. He was confiscated with an emaciated mare with a young foal from a cock fighting property. Thank you to Debbie who brought him out to Shiloh and who took in the mare and foal. As you must have guessed by his new name- Tommy only has one eye. More info to come tomorrow...
It was so cold last night that these are actually icicles on Sky's whiskers!
Sally cleaned him up and took him for a walk. Sky seemed a bit better today...
He looks a lot more chipper and is now wearing two warm blankets. Thank you to Cheri who donated some blankets this morning, they are already in use...
I had to chase Charlie out of the Saloon this morning, he was looking for some Equine Senior and thought he would blend in with the big horses. Good try Charlie!
The Hospice's "skating rink"...
Sabine and Willie Nelson...
Felipe found this one eyed pigeon- he is now living in the chicken coop...
Sharil, Borrego, Cochise and friends under City Center...
