Indy and Muncie- two abandoned horses find safety at Shiloh

Yesterday, we had two new unexpected arrivals to the rescue.

It is a long and complicated story. On his way to pick up a load of hay cubes, Diego passed a truck and trailer hauling two horses along the dirt road. Diego arrived at the hay farm and was getting loaded up when the same truck and trailer pulled in- this time WITHOUT the two horses. He immediately called Shiloh and and Shiloh crew jumped in the truck and headed out to confront the driver.

Of course, he denied that the horses were his and that he had dumped them, even though all of the evidence pointed to the contrary.

The Shiloh crew took photos and information from the driver as we will be contacting Animal Control.

After the confrontation, Shiloh loaded up the two horses, both geldings, and took them back to the rescue and safety.

Out in the desert...

This is Muncie...

Indy.

(I am currently in Indiana and Michigan and learned about these two guys when I was leaving Indianapolis and driving through Muncie, IN heading to Michigan.)

Down the road...

Muncie and Indy, happily eating at Shiloh.

More information and photos to come...

Wow ! Some people really should go to jail for this kind of crap ! Thank you to you and your staff Jill, for taking these babies in. From the looks of it, they have been hungry for a while. :( I hope that the evidence that you got will be sufficiant for the horses (previous) owner to be prosecuted.

What a SICK individual....May be he can get some of the same treatment he gave his horses, seems as if responsibility is a dirt word these days...Looks like they have not been well taken care of either for a while already. I wonder why it is that people think that if they dump horses in the wild they can take care of themselves, they are NOT wild anymore and do not have the instincts anymore. These horses would have died if not for Shiloh !

What sweet looking horses. I'm so glad you were able to give them a safe place! They just got a great Christmas gift.
Hope that those who dumped them get prosecuted. Please keep us updated on the horses and what happens to the owner.

Two more lucky equines to have found their way to Shiloh.

I fervently hope Karma catches up to the guy that dumped them sooner, rather than later.
