Lots of Photos...

First off, Shiloh WILL BE OPEN to visitors and volunteers this Friday, Saturday and Sunday during our normal working hours, 8am until 1pm. So, come on out and work off some of your Thanksgiving dinner at Shiloh!

Some good news as little Jack has been happily adopted to a new family! He left today for his new home where he will be spoiled by little girls and a horse loving family...

Now some sad news as we had to have Valentine euthanised in the vet clinic this afternoon. She was down this morning and just didn't have the strength to hold herself up. We have been watching her closely for the past two weeks as we suspected that she had recently suffered a stroke. (Notice her loose lip in the above photo- she also had weakness in her hind legs.) She spent the last bit of time in our Barn where she wore a warm blanket and had as much food as she could eat. This morning, we knew her time had come and with help from everyone at Shiloh, we were finally able to get her up and into the horse trailer for the ride to the clinic. Val lived at Shiloh for the past three years and had a good horse life here. She enjoyed days out in the pastures with her herdmates and attention from staff and volunteers. Rest in peace, Val...

Rescue work continues as Pokie Dot returned to Shiloh from her adoptive home. Her family was having financial difficulty so Pokie came back. She is super cute (and fuzzy) and will be looking for another home soon. She is still shy with people and we will continue to work with her until she is re-adopted.

Pokie Dot only has one eye- we had her injured eye removed when she was originally rescued by Shiloh off of the Fallon Feedlot in 2009.

Sandi and Buckwheat Capone- a match made in Heaven!

This morning's Breakfast Club...

Gummie Saloon...

Nike is looking great. She is actually in training with a local trainer in Sandy Valley to help her get over her mounting issues. Once we feel she is ready, she will be looking for her new home.

More Okay Corral...

Young Slider is heading off to "school" with our local trainer. He just needs more work than we all have time to give him right now, so he is heading to the trainer's ranch. He will be back in a month or so, ready to find his new home. (He was recently adopted but his adoption fell through.)

Elisa is back at Shiloh for a few days and is riding some of the horses. Here she is with Cooper. It's so great to have Elisa back- we all missed her!

Jimmy Dean snoozing warmly in our donated straw...

Emily and her horse Dude had a great time riding around the ranch...

Lyfting and Aztec share some hay. Those of you who know Aztec, know that he ALWAYS has a hay stem in his mouth. He actually walks around Shiloh with one sideways in his mouth all day...

Jedermann enjoyed a nice roll in the sandy turn out...

Lark and Roy sharing our bigger Medical Unit. Both are recovering from leg wounds...

Over in Gummie Saloon, Canyon models a new line of blanket skirts...

While Angel the Skin Horse and Avalon enjoy their hay in Okay Corral...

Little Brisa is growing up!

My niece, Emily, spends some time with Cher over in the Pig Palace...

While Pigmalion snuggles down in his donated straw bedded pig house. It's really comfortable and snug in those pig houses!
