Our special needs pony, Levi, Big Pasture. He has an old fused fractured hip but does very well in spite of it. We have had surgery done on it to make him have a better range of movement but he prefers to "ski" with his one hind leg as he canters along. He is happy and loves living out in the pasture with his herd of multiple girlfriends...

Special needs mare, Sweetie, Easy Street. Sadly, Sweetie's advanced arthritis in her knees is now affecting her quality of life. We have been watching her closely the past few months but are going to have her re-evaluated on this coming Tuesday's vet day. She remains fat and healthy otherwise but she is now having a difficult time getting around. We will discuss her options with the vet...

Old sway backed Shamrock, Easy Street. He is hanging out with his friends, Cloud and Val.

Sabine's new four wheeler! She now rides across the desert trails from her house in the valley to Shiloh...

Spending time with old Maverick. Maverick's founder has just become too much for him now. We have had him approx four years after rescuing him from an auction in CA. At the time of his rescue, he was a breeding stud, already foundered with two very infected eyes. After arriving at Shiloh, he was gelded and one of his eyes had to be removed. He flourished for many years with us and lived with friends in the pastures but his condition has deteriorated in the past few weeks and I think it is time we let him go. He will be evaluated by the vet on Tuesday. In the meantime, we are keeping him comfortable and letting him know that we love him...

After work, we all shared a Mexican drink called Michlada (spelling?). Felipe and Diego mixed them up for us and we all relaxed for a bit in the Cherry Pie. Thank you Diego the bartender!

Sharil spending some quiet time with Maverick. Sharil was with us at the auction when Maverick was rescued and has always loved him...

Early in the morning, Calamity escaped her Hospice pen and made her way over to Easy Street for a visit...

Such a great post.
Dear Maverick. I'm so glad you saved him and he's had a good life with you since you brought him home.
