Copper Meadows Horse Trials June 9-10

His past weekend, my sister Sarah and Jedermann competed in the Open Novice division in the Copper Meadows Horse Trials in Ramona, CA.

Sarah and Jeder did awesome with an incredible 22.2 Dressgae score, double clear rounds in both Stadium Jumping and Cross Country, finishing in second place. A great show!

The lowly groom- Jedermann was spotless and sparkling white all weekend- but I was filthy! But, I love grooming for my sister!

Haircuts!

Today was the day for the annual haircuts for Inca and Aztec! A group of guys from South America travel around each year shearing people's Llamas, Alpacas, etc. So, each year they stop off at Shiloh...


Inca, our Llama was up first! The guys lay her down and go right to work. Surprisingly, the animals don't struggle or put up a fight, they just lay quietly and the whole thing only takes a few minutes...

They tie their hind legs to this board to immobilize them...


They also had their hooves trimmed...

Yep on 1/6/12

The following are photos are of Yep's condition on the day she was found dumped alongside the road near Shiloh. She was rescued on 1/6/12, just six months ago but she is a much happier horse today...


Our farrier worked in her feet that very morning...
