You just never know what to expect each day when you run a rescue!
This morning, Aztec used a Mesquite Bush over by Mesquite Manor as a scratching post and got his hair stuck in the thorns!
Poor guy- he couldn't move!
He stood quietly while we all worked on getting him unstuck...
A branch was all twisted up in his hair and we had to use scissors to get it out!
His hair remained on the branch...
His hair remained on the branch...
But little Aztec was no worse for wear and wandered off to find more trouble...
We moved the big wooden run in shed out of one of the pastures...
Off to the other side...
Into the turn out opposite Mesquite Manor...
And, welcome to the new Brat Pack pen! The yearlings now have tons of room to stretch their legs and play together.
Now the attached Bungalow turn out is the new Kinder Care area. Each mare and foal now have a double sized pen with indoor stall with straw bedding and access to the turnout. When the foals are all born and are old enough, they can play together in this space as well. Locksley and Pippi enjoyed the bigger space...
Locksley really enjoyed exploring it...
After a while, they headed back into their private stall...
Next out was pregnant Vortex.
She didn't feel like moving too much though!

What a great job the Scouts did!
It looks awesome, I remember duct
taping those stalls! The horses thank you, the hard working crew at Shiloh thank you
Poor Vortex looks like she is about to explode!
Way to go Scouts! Awesome job!
Glad you were able to get Aztec out of his jam. Wonder how long before he does that again...
Where is the other half of The Odd Couple?
Just read the post on Vortex's new foal, looking forward to seeing more pictures!
