A Busy Saturday Clinic...

Saturday was a great day- lots of people out at the rescue, many of whom participated in our Joe Weitekamp clinic. By the way, if you live in Southern NV and are looking for a really great trainer to start a young horse, help with a Mustang or help with a problem horse, please check out Joe Weitekamp. Here is Joe's Website.

But, before we get to the day's photos, we want to congratulate Vic and his adoption of Spice! Vic, who recently lost his beloved Xanthos and who had been considering adopting Spice for a while, went ahead and made it official. All of us at Shiloh are very happy for Vic and Spice...

Speaking of Adopted Shiloh Horses, Liberado (now renamed Mirage) and Silverado, participated in the clinic. Both horses look fantastic and both did a great job yesterday.

Mirage has really filled out and settled down. Great job Cheryl!

Joe chose New Arrival, Banjo, as a demonstration horse. Banjo did great...

Everyone gathered around the round pen to watch. We had a really nice turn out and it was a wonderful clinic. Everyone learned alot...

Sharil and Eric clowned around a bit- but Eric did an excellent job organizing the day. Thank you Eric!
Later, Joe rode his new Mustang, Wiseguy. Joe has been working with Wiseguy for the upcoming Mustang Makeover. Wiseguy has been under saddle for only 30 days...

Tony came out to watch some of the clinic. Here he meets Wiseguy.
Joe demonstrates Wiseguy's gate opening expertise.

Of course, while the clinic was going on, so was our usual rescue stuff. Jimmy Dean enjoyed a fruit salad, courtesy of Helga.

Ketchum's former Foster Family came by to visit him. They cleaned him up under City Center..
And then posed for this nice shot.

Tony took photos with Leo...

And with Felipe.

While Helga groomed Hutch...

And then she tried to coax shy Hammie Davis to have some fruit...

Lindsey Loham snored through the whole day...

All in all, a very, very nice day!

So Funny!

Lindsey the pig could be heard snoring loudly all throughout the clinic in her stall corner!

An AWESOME day! Thank you to Shiloh for allowing us to use the facility, to Joe for lending a helping hand and sharing his knowledge with all of us, and to everyone who came out and had some fun...we couldn't have done it without yall! The weather was perfect and I hope everyone had as much fun as I did. I still can't get over the amazing job Joe has done with Wiseguy...good luck in Norco! Can't wait for the next one! :)

What a wonderful day. Had a lot of fun, and learned a thing or two from Joe's teaching. I went to see Melvin in the end of the day, and I could not recognize him at once. He looks so good, and got his coat back and put on weight. I gave him some carrots, oh so happy to see him doing so well. When I got home I realized I had "farmer arms" sunburned from the elbow down to my fingers, haha.

What a wonderful day and clinic! I look forward to coming back in the future! It was fun to see all the animals at Shiloh eating breakfast! What a busy place! I was very impressed with Joe. And, Eric did a superb job organizing the clinic! It was very informative. Guess I'll have to go to Norco and see Joe in a couple of weeks!
