NOTE: I had some great pics of Apache back at Shiloh- but I forgot the camara cord so I can't download them! I will post them tommorow...
Five of the horses that we saved in July at the New Holland Sale in PA arrived this morning! The Haflinger weanling, who were are estimating to be approx 10 months old, had to stay behind and will ship in a few weeks. He decided to play "the Mustang Game" at 6:30am on the morning they were to be picked up. After a merry chase, he had to be left behind. Mitch from Wings Horse Transport will get him on his next run at the end of the month...
The big sweet Percheron mare! What a face!!!! She is approx 18 years old.
Eating her first meal at Shiloh...
The pregnant Haflinger mare- she is also very sweet and likes people. She is approx 7 years old.
More of her. With the info we were given, we are estimating that she is approx 10 months pregnant. She was confirmed pregnant by a vet back in January. She must have been bred back in her foal heat, about 2 weeks after giving birth...
She has a beautiful thick blond mane...
Sally and the Haflinger gelding.
He is approx 7 years old...
He's very cute- but does need a makeover!
The old gelding, "Priceless" who is approx 30 years old. We saved him for a mere $150.00- we just couldn't watch him go to slaughter. He is very gentle. We moved him into the Mesquite Manor, where he has nice soft ground and alot of shade. The long trip was hardest for him, he lost quite a bit of weight.
The very fancy Pony Gelding. He is approx 5 years old.
He is a great looking little guy!
Other happenings at the Ranch today:
Some really great news as Beau and Cheyenne are adopted to a great horse and animal loving couple from Las Vegas! They will stay at Shiloh for a few weeks as their new owners get their corrals ready for them. Their new owners also have some horse land in Montana, so these guys are going to ahve a great life...
We moved Soot in with Falcon, who is recovering from his acute attack of Laminitis. They are fast friends. Here they are eating some breakfast this morning...

Well- welcome all new arrivals! It's a good thing I called in for 6 bags of carrots, rather than just 5 bags for tomorrow! Looking forward to meeting all of you, and showing you the true purpose of a yellow wheel barrow...!!!
