We took Daisy, Flower, Philadelphia, and Tin Man into the Vet Clinic this morning. We had to leave all four horses in the clinic so that the vets can take their time with the minis. They want to all consult together and get their hooves as normal as is possible. We will pick everyone up tomorrow.
Apache is doing great and is ready to come home, Leo will pick her up on Friday morning.
Daisy and Flower had their deformed hooves and legs x-rayed again. Their hoof problems are not just their feet, their leg bones are actually deformed from genetics and in breeding. Their lower legs bones are fusing and this causes their feet to twist. Daisy's feet are pretty stable, she gets along great. Flower has actual bone loss and breakdown, hers is more painful. We needed updated x-rays to see just what is going on in there- with the deformities, our Farriers are very wary of cutting too much. Now that we have the baseline, we can work from there. Both little guys are getting epoxy build ups on the hooves to try to keep them more stable and as pain free as possible for a quality of life.
Philadelphia has his jaw x-rayed...
He's such a good boy! Philly's jaw looks great now, in the x-rays you can see where a piece was broken off, but the bone is fusing and should not cause him anymore discomfort.
Tin Man, still groggy, wakes up from his procedure... He had his bony growth x-rayed and removed. Jenny, his owner was there to help him during the vet visit. His removed growth will be sent into the lab to be tested.
Daisy, looking cute as usual...
The vet techs braided her mane and tail...
Her new improved hooves!
Getting trimmed- look how many people it takes! Daisy was not happy!
Being X-rayed.
Flower's turn...
Dr. Lamb and Dr. Ballard talk about options...
Her new improved hooves...

Ya know, it just makes ya feel good to see how Jill and Sally take care of the Horses. Shiloh Is a awsome Rescue. ;)
Wow! Those hooves look so much better! I'm sure Daisy and Flower look much more comfortable.
We ladies know pumps can do that to your feet! So glad this is being done for two of the best mascots out there. Hopefully flower will have a better disposition when she doesn't hurt so much. Yea!
Cheri
Nothing like a little mani/pedi to make a girl feel all 'perty!' Hope the kids feel great and enjoy better mobility thanks to today's procedures! Glad to see Flower is getting special treatment- Charlie kicked the tar out of her last Saturday over an apple... so we chased Charlie away, again... Daisy is so smart she remains under the radar, literally, when she's carroted or appled. Course, Daisy is so tiny I guess she's always under the radar. Glad Philly is going to be alright- what a handsome boy! Seriously- someone needs to marry a vet. I can't begin to imagine Shiloh's vet bills!!!
Wow, those are some feet! We all had a good look at those over here. Those are a case study. I bet the Xrays are very interesting to look at.
