It was sizzling out at the rescue today, it was supposed to get up to 105 degrees. All we could do was to get the daily chores done and try to stay in the shade. All the horses were staying close to their shelters...
Of course, the ever resourceful Jimmy Dean found a nice cool mud puddle...
Boone, looking nice and fat in the Big Pasture...
New York under City Center, he is standing under a misting system. Big thanks to Volunteer Ed who is setting up the misters under City Center!
Hutch in the stock after having his wound on his neck cleaned. He "played" a little too hard with another gelding in the Saloon and is now back in a single corral. Hutch doesn't play well with others...
Starsky and Ed...
We moved the new chestnut mare, Sunny, into a Barn stall where we can watch her closer. He feet are in really bad shape and she is still very sore, so we are treating her with daily pain meds, which are helping. She is also very thin...
Look who has joined the Breakfast Club- Lindsey Loham!
A view of shady Mesquite Manor...
Another view...
Sedona in the Brat Pack, she has really filled out.

I hate to see these poor guys in this heat, nice pics.
I think the horses do better than we do with the heat! They can stand under the shade as we humans clean the pens, bring them food and water, and take care of their needs. :o)
