All quiet today at the rescue.
Pecos and Will returned from the vet clinic. Will is over his gas colic and raring to go, Pecos is doing well with his newly closed eye. Dude is remaining in the clinic with his imapction, he is now on IV fluids, but passing watery manure with oil which means things are getting through a bit. Let's all keep this sweet old guy in our thoughts this weekend. He's a tough horse...
Ketchum, who went into the clinic last week, had his cancer removed from his rectal area and seems to be doing well. He will remain at the clinic over the weekend for monitoring. We actually have a wonderful foster home waiting for him in Las Vegas, so we are hoping he can recover and continue to enjoy his life. His cancer was pretty bad in that area, but we are hoping we got it and he can have a fun life in his foster home with regular vet check ups. Because of his situation, we are not offering Ketchum for adoption, but foster only. That way Shiloh will be able to continue on with his vet care but he will be in a one on one home where he will get all of the spoiling he deserves.

Kudos to Oreo's new owner for doing such a great job with her! I remember how scraggly and wretched she looked when she came in from a backyard in Sandy Valley, (or Pahrump?)
Just goes to show what a correct diet and proper training can do!
Poor little Dude. Feel better little guy!
I love the adopted horse updates / happy endings =) Oreo looks wonderful!!
