Sadly, Chief is not doing very well. He is still in the clinic where he is being aggressively treated. His crippled leg has developed a painful celluitis and he is still unable to control his hind end. He has to be started on antibiotics for the celluitis and we are cutting down his IV steroids and see how he responds. We do not want Chief to be in pain and we are all becoming concerned for his projected quality of life. But, he is still eating and alert, he is continuing to fight, and so will we. We will do everything we can to get him better.
We just want him to get to the point where he can come home to Shiloh, even if he is a special needs horse, we just want him to have some sort of quality of life. But, we are not sure that is going to happen...
I just wanted to let everyone know how is doing. I will keep everyone updated and I know we are all pulling for him.

all our prayers are with you Chief
Lord let him be well and come home to shiloh to be with his wanders
I hope they can help Chief. It wouldnt be the same without him.
He is one of those special "personalities" at Shiloh
that would be greatly missed. It was so touching to see how he would
take care of Sunday when he was let out to roam. He wouldnt leave
his side, no matter how rambunchus
he would get. Lets pray for the best
OMGosh! I am on my knees Chief, saying lots of prayers for you. I have the cutest pictures of him and Sunday. I can't believe how he takes to those babies. Chief, Lucero is going to need you, so please get better soon, WE MISS YOU AT SHILOH!!!
