Sweet old Laramie in the Gummies...
Sanctuary Horse, Canyon is in the Barn where she is being treated with daily steroid injections for a neurological condition caused by her arthritis in her hip and spine area. But, she is feeling better with the treatment and should hopefully be able to move back out into the Gummies soon...
Elisa worked lots of horses- here she is lunging Suggestion before hopping on. He is doing wonderful, I am hoping to get his adoption video shot tomorrow...
Over in Little vacation Village, Bucky is staying at a healthy weight (thanks to our Feed Fairies!)...
So is his corral mate, Magic!
In the Duplex, Orleans just isn't gaining like we had hoped. She is on our weight gain diet and has put on some weight since her arrival, but still has a ways to go. She does have a hard lump/growth in her neck area which we will have checked by the vet during next week's vet day...
Orlean's BFF and corral mate, Happiness, is now up to her healthy weight. She does have Cushings, which causes her still furry coat.
Sienna, the mare from the Animal Control is looking fat and sleek in Assisted Living.
Back in the Barn, special needs horse, Sunny, is staying chipper and eating well in spite of her laminitis. We are closely watching her quality of life and will have her examined again by the vet next week. This upcoming vet day is going to be a difficult one, we may have to have a couple of our special needs horses euthanised. We are dreading this, but we have to do what is best for them and we cannot allow them to suffer. We have done all we can, but sometimes we just can't undo damage that was done to the horses before they were rescued. The vet will be evaluating Echo Echo, Eagle, Charity and Sunny...
