Sunday at Shiloh...

Sally, Tony and Jill headed to Los Angeles this morning for work, after all we have rescue horses to feed and support! All was quiet at the ranch but the wind picked up later in the day.

Great news for New Arrival, Guadalupe (reg name Deaconess) as she was reunited with one of her previous owners. Shiloh Volunteer, Marianne, was researching the registered horses' backgrounds, we came across Deaconess' previous owner and we contacted her to let them know that she was recently rescued off of the slaughter feedlot. She was horrified and relieved to hear that she was safe at Shiloh. She immediately offered to drive to Shiloh and pick her up, promising that she will never leave her care again. Deaconess' near miss with slaughter goes to show that many times owners just don't realize how insidious slaughter is for horses, no horse is safe. She had a buy back clause in her sale contract, but the person she sold her to never attempted to contact her, instead she was dumped for slaughter. This is a happy ending to what could have been a very tragic story.

Since we traveled today, I haven't had time to post about Pet-a-palooza which was a huge success for us. With Tony help we raised almost $3,000.00 for the Shiloh Horses! I will post photos and more information over the next day or so. HUGE thanks to all our hardworking volunteers who helped to make it such a great experience!

Here are some photos from Sunday's adventures out at the rescue (Thanks Dave!):

After a hard day of work meeting all of his fans at Pet-a-palooza, Aztec just sat back and wondered what the day had in store...

And it started off with Inca investigating a suspicious looking broken water pipe...

Wanderers Cortez and Cochise watched from afar. They both look a little guilty...

BB tried to tell what he had seen, but no one listened...

New Arrival, Mojo, was too interested in eating a carrot and letting Kody shed him out.

Sausage Patti knew something, but she wouldn't say a thing...

well... I am giving up my photography rights at Shiloh, hahahahaha. That broken water pipe was from me falling on it trying to take a pic of Sabine, Boa, and Aztec. I was walkn backwards and oopps, fell on my butt not only breaking the water pipe but my camera as well. :( ALL Good, still got some good shots :)
