Shiloh today: The chores were done, wounds cleaned, horses checked, thanks again to everyone who is helping the guys out with all work.
Arson was brought into the vet clinic to have his foot checked as we have been concerned about it for a while. Although his injured hoof grew back and looked healthy, over the past month it has started to abscess again and we were concerned about the bone again. He was x-rayed today and it was found that his coffin bone is infected again. It's possible that a small amount of the original infection had remained and has flared up now. He will have to have more of his hoof wall removed again and a catheter with antibiotics put in to flush the bone. Arson is such a friendly and easy to handle gelding, we, along with the vets, have decided that he maintains a high quality of life in spite of his hoof issue and we want to go ahead and do what we can for him. He will return home to Shiloh next week.
Arson looking good. Poor guy...
His last hoof x-ray, see the missing bone. Lets keep our fingers crossed that all will go well and that we can get the infection in check.
Chance, Avalon and Napa out in the Okay Corral pasture today.

Laramie is looking good!
Poor Arson, I will keep my fingers crossed for him. I believe my first visit to Shiloh in 2007 was during one of his first days there at Shiloh too...and he was very nice and friendly. Or was it the carrots?
