Jill and Sally are leaving town tomorrow to go on a book tour with Tony's new autobiography, The American Prince. We are off to New York, London, and Ireland. Tony will be on The View and The Today Show next week, we will be posting more info about what day, etc. Tony's book is all about growing up in New York City and his life in Movies over the past 60 years. Of course, Shiloh is mentioned!

Be sure to watch for Traveler's upcoming adventures on the tour with Tony. You just never know where Traveler is going to end up...

Our band of hardworking, dedicated, and knowledgeable volunteers will be keeping everything running smoothly at the rescue while we are gone. But, we will sure miss all the horses...

Well, Winter is officially arriving! It was very cold and windy on Saturday. Soon it will be time for us to start hauling out the blankets for the horses. That is always a HUGE job, as many of the Shiloh Horses wear blankets in the cold months. All of the older guys, especially the Gummies, all of the special needs and crippled horses, and many of the Thoroughbred's who just don't get very thick hair. In the midst of winter, it does get down into the mid teens at night at Shiloh...

In the morning, Christian Bail left with his new family, as did Frost. It's bittersweet to see the horses move on, but we are always happy that they have owners of their own now. A loving family and home of their own beats living at a rescue any day...

Sally, all bundled up, feeding the VC Pen. VC stands for Visually Challenged- GG, Idaho, and Keller are all blind. They have become fast friends.

We unwrapped Arson's foot and flushed, cleaned and medicated his hoof. It's looking good, staying clean, but it is a complicated and difficult process to do every 2-3 days. We (Sally and Jill) decided that it would be easiest for everyone of we took Arson back into the clinic to be treated while we are out of town for the next two weeks. There is enough other work to do while we are gone to have to worry about his exposed bone and keeping it sterile.

As volunteers and visitors were arriving to handle the chores, Jill, Sally, Sharil, and Arson headed out to the vet to attend their open house. We met up with many Shiloh people at the Open House, The Hickeys, Kelly, and Daria among others. Many Shiloh adopters were also there, it so nice to see everyone again and to get filled in on how their Shiloh Horses are doing.

We set up a table and offered our handbeaded horseshoes and t-shirts for donations- we raised $445.00for the rescue horses. We also handed out brochures and information about Shiloh. Big thanks to Desert Pines for allowing us to have a table!

The vets gave wonderful talks about Colic, Podiatry, Reproduction, Endoscopy- we all learned alot. There were tons of people there, and although we were all freezing in the wind, everyone had a wonderful time!
