A much cooler day today, in fact it was actually a little bit cold this morning!
The old guys in the newly enlarged Assisted Living pasture are doing great, everyone is getting along and seems happy. We had also made a "Visually Challenged" corral where we moved Keller, Good Grief, and Idaho. All three are basically blind as bats- but they seem to get along great! They all eat together and seem secure and comfortable with their new corral mates.
Oscar Meyer has a nice pig water bath...After working at the rescue, we (Jill, Sally, and Sharil) met Robin and Audrey in town. We all met to take the 2009 calendar into the printer. It's going to be a wonderful calendar, full of rescue horses and info. Hopefully we will get the first copies in a few weeks.
After much long discussion, Jill and Sally have finally come to terms with the fact that we cannot do it all! After working at the rescue seven days a week, 365 days a year- we are so tired and frazzled that we don't have much energy left over for anything else! So we are going to be creating a Event Planning and Marketing board. Robin and Audrey have some really wonderful ideas and plans and with their help and guidance we are going to work on kicking Shiloh up a notch. We have some great ideas for a big event for early next year. In the next few days, I will be posting more info about who to contact if you would like to help us on the fundraising and marketing end of things. There are so many interested people who have approached us about how they can help- now we are ready!
I have to say, it really is hard to let go of some of the control of our vision and dream, after all Sally and I started Shiloh with one horse- but Shiloh has grown so much over the last few years that it's time we bring in more expertise from the many supporters out there. After all, there are so many wonderful people out there who want to help the horses...

So happy to hear Keller now has pen mates! Wonderful!
Well keep us posted on the fundraising and events, there are lots of us who would like to help out, just let us know! And save me a few calendars, I can't wait to order!
In a world full of anger, pessimism and hate, it is a soothing balm to read about Shiloh and see the pictures of all the animals you have rescued. The love, compassion and kindness you show to all you have taken in gives hope and direction to your readers. May God bless you all.
It may be hard to let go of some of the running of Shiloh, but it's a smart move. You gotta take care of yourselves as well!!
I'll keep my eyes peeled on who to contact for fundraising too!
Jill, you and Sally can't do it ALL! I think this is a wise move on your part. We all need a rest every now and then!
