We might be having a good time while we are on our trip, but for the dedicated volunteers who are caring for the horses back at Shiloh, the work goes on and on and on...
Journey coliced yesterday afternoon and was taken into Las Vegas to meet the vet. Dr. Schur did a rectal and felt a mass. Journey was oiled and started to look better, so she was taken back to Shiloh. Then at 10pm, Sabine was called by Leo who told her that Journey had gotten worse again. Leo took her into the clinic where Sabine met them. They refluxed large amounts of fluids from Journey's stomach, which is usually a very serious sign. It was looking very bad for her late in the night and it was thought that she would have to be euthanized before morning. Incredibly though, she began to recover again and made it through the night. Jill just spoke to Dr. Schur who told her that they are running tests on Journey who is screaming for her breakfast! Dr. Schur said it just might be a miracle...
Happy news as I have been told that Breezie had a little filly last night! Both seem to be healthy and happy and I should be getting some pictures later today which I will post.
One of our barn cats had kittens in the feed room!
I will update you all when I get some more news...

Hey Jill, I have a couple of pics of the baby here: http://naturallygaited.blogspot.com/
Hello all! Just looked at the pics of Breezie's baby- looks like she's a good Mama! Such a cutie pie baby! Now Little Will can have a playmate closer to his own age, and stop pestering his Mom and Aunt Apache! I just love Shiloh- brings a smile to my face every day. Sooooo glad Journey is doing better- with all she's been through, she deserves many, many years of peace and joy.
