We all hopped in the truck and headed over.
There she was, just standing and waiting for someone to help her. Looks like another horse dumped out in the desert....
She is very well mannered 2-3 year old QH, shod all the way around (with front pads which leads me to suspect a lameness) and she walked very calmly into the trailer.
We searched with binoculars to see if there was another horse with her anywhere as sometimes multiple horses have been in this same area.
But, we couldn't find another one.
We have have named her Mirage and we will do all we can for her.

So glad you found her. Such a pretty thing. Anxious to follow her story at Shiloh.
We shoe with pads if we are going to ride rocky trails or those that our outside our horse's normal terrain. Seems awfully young to be a trail horse, but guess some wouldn't think so. Anyway, just made me wonder if she had gotten loose from someone's ride camp.
I just blew up one of the pictures. Is that a white spot on the right side of her withers? If so, could be from a saddle pressure point which again makes me think trail horse....
You have saved the day again. I love it. Mirage is safe at Shiloh.
You have saved the day again. You are so awesome. Mirage will be safe at Shiloh. Looks like a nice girl. I hope she is not lame.
Glad she found her way to Shiloh. You guys are awesome she is safe now.
Well, what a lucky day for this youngster. Someone obviously cared enough for her to let her be approached by strangers. She doesn't look hungry and having shoes with pads means they knew to care for her feet (a "little extra" often forgotten when it comes to caring for horses. Feed and water, yeah, that's almost a no-brainer, but hoof care? Sometimes not so much.
Anyway, what a lucky girl is Miss Mirage. I can imagine someone will want to adopt her. She seems like she got a very good start.
God Bless You and all your rescue does for the animals.
That Mirage is one lucky lady! One of the things that I love about your Rescue is that you will go that extra mile to find out WHY this youngster is wearing pads. Give her an accurate diagnosis, appropriate treatment, and the quality of life that every living thing deserves to have.
Just like that story about the starfish on the beach you can look at each individual on your ranch and KNOW you made a difference to them.
