This is Pokie Dot, a POA Pony. She was rescued for $150.00. She has an injured eye and we actually had her taken into the vet clinic this afternoon. The vets recommend that her injured eye be removed, to which we have agreed. It looks like it was injured quite a while ago, she is already blind in it and she has been dealing with the pain. Removing the eye will help her overall health. Pokie will remain in the clinic over the next few days.
This is Truce, a TB in his early twenties. He was saved for $350.00. He does have an old racing tattoo but it is too faded to read. He had been being used on a ranch and is supposed to be very well broke. He is friendly and calm.
This is Cocktail, a 7 year old light Palomino mare. She will really be a nice looking horse once she has some TLC and a make over. She has a pretty white blaze on her head which you cannot see in the photo. We were told that she was used on a dude string. Cocktail was saved for $350.00 and we used the summer donation from the Flamingo Pool Bar!
Fancy is a young filly who has pretty white socks. She was saved for $90.00.
This is Gentry, an 8 year old Saddlebred gelding who was rescued for $255.00. Poor guy, he looks and acts like he was well cared for at some point in his life before being dumped for slaughter. Sadly, his paperwork when he arrived at the feedlot from CA had a notation on it which read "For Slaughter Only". He was stressed and shaking with cold on the feedlot.
His leg is cut and infected. We have cleaned it all out, flushed the wound and started him on antibiotics. He stood quietly with good manners for the cleaning.
Tanya gave him a kiss to welcome him to Shiloh. See how resigned his eye looks, with time and care the spark will come back.
After his wound was cleaned he was given a new blanket to keep him warm.
Here is Sully, an older Quarter Horse gelding who was saved for $350.00. We were told he was used as a camp horse and he is extremely quiet and gentle. A real cutie!
Calamity is a one eyed Palomino mare who was rescued for $270.00. She had been used on a dude string until she injured and them lost her eye. It seems she had a hard time adjusting to one eye and was subsequently dumped for slaughter. We will give her the time and work she needs to get her confidence back.
All in all, some nice horses, all of whom should be able to eventually move on to homes and families of their own.

Congratulations on saving these lovely souls! I can't believe what was written on Gentry's papers- why would any horse be 'labeled' as slaughter only? How did that happen? How could anyone do that? I just don't understand, but hope that Gentry and all his Fallon friends soon learn that they are safe, can relax and be happy, and are about to begin the best years of their lives! I'm pretty sure I could see in their eyes they all said thank you, thank you, thank you...
They are all beautiful. So sad, what happened to them, but they are safe now. God Bless you all!!

Hey is Gentry a male or female? I went to check out his page to see if there was any thing else about him as I was so saddened by the fact that some one would actually mark him for slaughter only and he is refered to as 'he' but under sex Gentry is listed as female.
Not that it's at all imporant in the skeme of things.
