THURSDAY:
The Gummie Pen on Thursday...
Ranch Dog, Sarge, sitting under the protection of City Center in the pouring rain. The ranch dogs have a dog door into our old office building where they have a dog sofa, dog beds, food and a heater. It's the warmest place on the ranch!

Snow in the pass!
We had to search for Wanderer Trigger who was hanging out way back in the Mesquite Trees with Scrappy and Baja. It's actually very nice and protected back here and the sandy soil is much drier...

Hutch and Cognac, the two newest Thoroughbreds in the turn out. We moved eleven of the New Arrivals into the Mare Motel and Hospice area. Their Isolation pens are completely flooded.
We moved Assisted Living pen member, Jackson into the Mare Motel for the rains. Because of his Shivers (neurological problem), he has such a hard time walking in the mud. He is so cute (and very muddy)!
We all worked on Arson this morning. We soaked and treated his feet, put on a clean blanket, stripped out his barn stall and laid all fresh shavings for him on rubber mats. We have to keep his hooves as clean as possible right now.
Sharil spent some time with him...
What a face! Arson really is a beauty and such a special horse.
Later, he laid down and munched on some hay.

The chestnut in the green blanket who is having so much fun is Gentry- the Saddlebred gelding who was marked as "Slaughter Only". His spirit is really coming through now!

Thank you Shiloh volunteers Eric, Tonya, and Sharil for all your help, and laughs, in the rain and the muck! Sometime horses are not fun, they are just work. Jill and I are so thankful for you. Just like the postoffice...neither rain, sleet, or snow!
I was thinking of you guys during these storms and wondering how you fared. Glad to see the wind didn't get your shelters or cause a lot of damage. Just wet!!!
My boots look the same way. I was thinking "I live in the desert. I should not need muck boots!!" but I was wishing I had some...

Hello Tony Curtis! You and Jillie truly are selfless people. I too am a huge fan of those gentle giants we call horses. They are magnificant creatures. Many blessings to both of you for giving them a voice. Without your voices they would never have been heard.
I am a true believer in the work that you are doing. I will start donating on a monthly basis...again thank you so much.
I just completed reading "American Prince". Wonderfully written. You truly are an American Prince.
And you are still a very handsome young man! I wish all the best to you and Jillie and all the volunteers at Shiloh.
