A Loss at Shiloh...
First off some sad news as Shiloh lost one of our senior horses on Saturday evening. Good Face, a 30ish year old mare from the feedlot, was acting strangely on Saturday. She was acting a bit colicy, but was also showing some signs of possible heart issues. Good Face had been going downhill a bit over the past two months and was really showing her age. We made the decision to bring her into the clinic where she was examined. She had a huge heart murmur and a somewhat impacted colon. Dr. Ballard thought there was some underlying medical issue going on with her, most likely related to her heart, but we decided to try to treat the colic and go from there. After only an hour or so into the treatment, she started to really fail and we made the sad decision to have her euthanised. Good Face was at Shiloh for about a year and a half and had a good life out in our pasture. We are glad she was able to live out her days in our Sanctuary. Good Face, you will be missed...
