Trying to Get Back to Work...

I am back from my trip and slowly trying to get back to work. I am still having a very hard time and miss Tony more than I can express. So, please bear with me...

With everything that happened in the last few months in my life, I never mentioned that we suspected that Ochocinco, the mare who showed up at our fence line after being dumped in the desert, was pregnant. As we worked to fatten her up, we began to realize that she was only gaining weight in her belly area and no where else. We had her checked by the vet and yes, it was confirmed that she was in foal!

So, meet little Cairo! He was born on October 31, 2010. He is healthy and strong and although we think this is Ochocinco's first foal, she did great and is an excellent mother.

Cairo! He is a paint colt with Appy markings! Where did that come from?

Look at those spots...

He is already having fun in the turn out. Poor Ochocinco is having a hard time keeping up with him...
We cannot believe his markings!

He is already eating (or pretending to eat) some grain with his mom...

Standing tall...

Welcome Cairo!

  4. I did say, how great it was that she found her way to Shilo. Much longer and two horses would be gone. He is definitely a looker.

  9. Yes, I was going to say he is a Paintaloosa, but someone beat me to it.

He is ADORABLE..........wow!!! Like a snowflake.

Jill, you don't EVER need to apologize for missing Tony.......I think that every post you should mention him, as he is still around, and always will be in spirit.
