More info on the Rummage Sale

Benefit/Rummage Sale update:

We are still looking for a drop off place in Las Vegas, somewhere where people can drop off donated items instead of driving them all the way out to Shiloh.

NOTE: Items CAN be dropped off early in the morning on the day of the sale.

We will begin setting up at 6am and the sale will run from 8am until 4pm.

Along with donated items for the sale, we will need Shiloh Volunteers to help us set up and run the sale, etc.

More info to come as we get closer to the date! This is going to be a really fun day for the horses!

Backstage at Pet-a-palooza

There is a lot that goes on behind the scene of the ever glamorous Pet-a-palooza...

We were all up bright and early...

It wasn't easy catching everyone. I am afraid we have some real Divas in this group!

Once we arrived, we all scurried to get the Shiloh performers ready. Mojo stood for a tail braiding from Shiloh Volunteer, Kalee...

Looking great, Mr. Mojo! "This is your 30 minute call!"

Baja, the veteran performer, tried to calm the younger horses' nerves. "Just smile and be gracious to all of your fans!"

Florecita demanded a quick leg hosing, as she wanted to be looking good for her public debut...

Florecita was feeling a big nervous and asked to have some extra hands to work on her...

Brushing, shedding, hoof cleaning- she had it all. But, still she complained of not having alfalfa hay and sparkling water in her dressing area...

"What is my motivation for this scene?! Where are my marks? Make up!!"

Daria tried to calm her and was overheard telling Florecita to, "Just remember- Jazz Hands, or uh, Jazz Hoofs!"

This is going to be an interesting day...

Friday

Friday was a busy and hot day as we all worked to get everyone ready for tomorrow's Pet-a-palooza at Sam Boyd Stadium. We will be bringing along Shiloh Horses Mojo, Trigger, Baja and for her public debut, Florecita. It's should be an interesting and fun day!

This sign just about says it all...

A huge dust devil in the Big Pasture...

Donna helped clip Baja to get her ready. It looks like Bronxie supervised...

Look at all that hair! Baja has Cushings so she is just not shedding her thick winter coat out like she used to. With Donna's help, she will be much more comfortable now in the hotter weather...

Wanderers Latigo, Huckleberry, Cortez and Moose...

Suki on my cart...

Susan took her riding lesson on Cooper- she did great!

Aztec had a nice roll in the dirt after his cool hosing...

Then he took a sun nap...

Mojo was all spruced up for Tomorrow's event- he got a really good scrubbing and a nice spraying with coat polish- but then, in true Mojo form, he laughed and rolled in the dirt...

Trigger looks all ready for his close up!

A Quiet Monday...

Like most Mondays, today was a quiet day...

Some of the wandering chickens have joined the morning Breakfast Club...

Jimmy Dean ate some melon for breakfast...

Aztec didn't look too happy about that!

We moved the three mares- Breeze, Nike and Ochocinco- out into Okay Corral from the Duplex. Since they are all at a healthy weight, we decided they needed to move out into a larger area...

The Wandering pony herd was spotted under some of the Mesquites. Left to right; Levi, Florecita, Mamacita, Pokie Dot and Mojo. Trigger was further back in the trees...

Suggestion...

Florecita and Mamacita...

We also moved Seemore, Orlando and Graffiti from the Barn stalls and out into what we are now calling Shady Pines (think Golden Girls!) We don't like to keep horses in smaller pens for long periods of time- it is much healthier for them to be out in a herd...

We also moved Melvyn into the Shady Pines area- he is almost totally blind and almost deaf. Shady Pines is going to be for our more fragile special needs horses- a place where they can still enjoy a stimulating life with like friends but where they are safe from injury from more robust horses...

Donkey Otie...

Ranch dog, Curry Comb!
