Tuesday was Vet Day at Shiloh.
Sadly, we did have to have Maverick euthanised. His Founder had just gotten too much for him and his quality of life was diminished. We all stayed with him as he passed in his comfortable corral. He was a special horse and will be missed.
We also had to have Sanctuary horse, Eureka, euthanised. His condition had deteriorated over the past few weeks and Dr. Schur thought maybe he was in kidney failure. He also was surrounded by his Shiloh family and passed very quickly.
Because we were at the rescue so early to get ready for the long day, I was able to see the pasture horses way back in the Mesquites. They sleep in the Mesquites and don't emerge from the trees until feeding time...
