Another Beautiful Few Days at Shiloh...

The weather has been just perfect out at the ranch although it is very cold at night and in the early mornings.

Some wonderful news as Laguna and Brisa were both adopted to new homes. Laguna headed off to her new home and Brisa will remain boarded at Shiloh...
Sharil and Felipe get their horses ready for a ride...
Wandering POA, Cowboy, looking cute as always...
Breeze wandered over to say hello...
The Shiloh wanderers held their daily meeting under CityCenter...
While Trucker and Brisa enjoyed the turn out...
There goes Trucker! Even though his best friend, Brisa, was adopted today, they will still remain roomates. Brisa and Trucker are a great pair and are happy together...
Brisa and her new happy owner, Rachael. Brisa is a one and one half years old very sweet Thoroughbred filly who has a nice bright future ahead of her...
Speaking of bright futures- little Sunday is now almost three and a half and is progressing in his training. Here, with the help of Eric, his owners Dave and Deonna get him used to carrying a rider. Sunday looks like he is going to stay pony sized- he is so cute!
An impatient Jimmy Dean waiting for the Breakfast Club to start...
Wanderer Baja...
I brought Tony's dog, Bronxie, out to Shiloh today...
Taquito, Tortilla and Pokie Dot enjoy some breakfast hay...
Our old Burro Fiesta...
Dave hung up our new white board on our tack room door...
Thanks Dave!
Ed came up with a great idea. Whenever we have a downed horse (like one of our old guys) we have to pull them into our horse trailer in order to get them to the vet where they can be treated. With our huge elderly population, unfortunately, this is something that we need to do at least once a month or so. So, we figured out we need some sort of sled that we can roll the horses onto to make it easier to move them and get them up the trailer ramp. Ed figured out that he can customize an old heavy plastic truck bed. He trimmed it and out holes on it for handles. It's a great idea and will really come in handy in emergencies.
I decided to try it out- it worked great! We have dubbed it the Ed Sled...
Dave and his son, Salsa...
Jedermann enjoyed some freedom wandering the rescue and stopped to eat some hay with Moose the Mule...
Our newly cleaned up white board with the week's schedule...
Our Shiloh Stat counter...

Weds at the Rescue...

A beautiful day at the rescue...

Shiloh's schedule for the week on our white board...

And one of our young visitors made her own schedule next to mine- I thought this was so cute!

Sandi and Bucky Capone...

Aztec ambles by near Jedermann who was enjoying wandering freely for the day...

Sally's note on Orlando's night medication- You just have to love Shiloh's technical lingo...

Gummie Saloon, Left to right; Whiskey, Melvyn, Scrappy...

Roy in the medical unit...

Spur resting in the sun near the Mare Motel...

Twister, Butterfly and Locksley in the turn out...

First thing in the morning, Mojo was spotted in the Hospice pens...

Later, he was seen snoring away in Frost's pen...

Florecita kicked up some dust playing with Huckleberry in the aisle of the Mare Motel...

Then she supervised Elaine and Willie's lesson preparation...

Rabbit headed off to his new home, here Felipe leads him to the waiting trailer...

We kept an eye on Aiken in the round pen. He was acting a little bit colicy at breakfast but seemed to feel better as the morning progressed and he went back out into his pasture for dinner...

I have gotten back into teaching riding lessons, something I have always loved doing. I like to help Shiloh Adopters get going with their Shiloh Horses and watch them progress to fun trail and pleasure riding...

Here is Donna and her newly adopted horse, Frost, in their lesson. Frost and Donna are a wonderful match and it is really nice to see Frost begin to blossom under her love and care...

Willie and Elaine had an awesome lesson this morning- they have really progressed and I am so proud of them both!

Wille and Sage were used in a lesson yesterday with two young sisters- both horses were great and the girls had a great time...

Sage and her rider looking good!

Wille and his young rider marching along and having fun!

My schedule is loosening up a bit so if you are interested in riding lessons on a Shiloh Horse, just email Jill (me) at shilohhorse@aol.com . An hour lesson is $35.00, all ages and levels. Come on out, ride a Shiloh Horse and have some fun. :o)

Some Photos

I hope everyone had a peaceful and safe Holiday. Sally and I had family in town and we all just had a great time being together.

I have been having major computer trouble so I broke down and bought myself a new laptop for Christmas. It will now be easier and faster for me to update the blog and make more Shiloh videos.

Here are just some photos from Shiloh from the past few days. Enjoy!
